How Linkin Park stands up around other Nu-Metal bands
1/21/2001
Standing alongside Korn, Slipknot, and Fred Durst's Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park has a intense rap-rock sound, and in Mike Shinoda's own words, "We want to make songs where you can't tell the rap part from the rock part from the electronic part." I find this adds a certain uniqueness to the band that separates them completely from the rest.
Mike Shinoda has a sense for writing, and his rap "breaks" are mesmerizing alongside Chester's mainline vocals.
